FAQs

How do I know if therapy is right for me?

Therapy is right for anyone who wants support, guidance, or tools to navigate life’s challenges — whether that’s stress, relationship struggles, family conflict, or major life transitions. If something feels off, stuck, or overwhelming, a therapy session can help you gain clarity and take actionable steps forward.

What happens in the first session?

The first session (or intake) is all about getting to know you. We’ll talk about your goals, challenges, and what brought you to therapy. It’s also a chance for you to ask questions and make sure this feels like the right fit.

Do you accept insurance?

No, I am not able to accept insurance at this time due to the fact I am an Associate. However, I do offer a sliding scale for individuals/couples who are experiencing financial hardship to make therapy more accessible for them.

Do you offer in-person sessions?

Not at this time. All sessions I offer are telehealth only. This means you can meet from the comfort and privacy of your own space using a HIPAA compliant video platform.

How often should I come to therapy?

Most clients start with weekly or bi-weekly sessions. The frequency depends on your goals, schedule, and current needs. We’ll figure out what works best for you together.

What are your credentials?

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate (#97106) under the supervision of Josh Kellar, LMFT-S, LPC-S. I have a Masters degree in Counseling with a specialization in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.

Can therapy really help with relationship issues?

Yes! Research shows that couples counseling (especially using methods like the Gottman Method or Emotionally Focused Therapy) can improve communication, rebuild trust, and strengthen connection. Even small changes in how you relate to each other can create big shifts over time.
